The Story

This house could be seen from I-96 in Michigan, somewhere in the Portland area. On a trip with my then 15yo son to visit family in Lansing, I resolved to get off the highway and track it down. We did, indeed, find it. Ignoring the NO TRESPASSING sign, as we photographers are known to do and much to the consternation of my son, I snapped away. This particular capture required my getting close to an outbuilding on the property, complete with broken windows and ragged curtains blowing in the wind. Every scary movie I ever watched flashed through my mind. The house and windmill no longer stand. I still look for it when traveling that way.
