Invasive Species
The inspiration for this project came as I walked out of the back door of a gallery to the alley parking lot. I saw a lovely morning glory, rooted in a pile of gravel, winding its way up a pipe amidst a sea of meter boxes. Morning glory is classified as invasive. However, in the context of the grand universe, it is the citizen, not the interloper. Concrete, metal and plastic are the intruders and those materials continue to expand, crowding out the natural world. Yet, the natural world persists, taking root anywhere it can, in a quiet fight in behalf of our universe.
This is an ongoing series. It's a spontaneous project, requiring an ever observant eye and a cell phone camera.
May the universe win.
